This is a new trade mission of AGRAGEX with the cooperation of ICEX (Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade). The purpose of the trip is to strengthen the presence of the Spanish agricultural machinery industry in countries like Ghana and Ivory Coast which are undergoing an economic take off.

June 2012.- Africa has become a destiny of special interest for the Spanish agricultural machinery Exporters. These companies want to settle their presence in Ghana and Ivory Coast, both countries showing great growth in the primary sector.

With the main goal of promoting the technological progresses and high quality of the Spanish companies AGRAGEX has organized a trade mission to Ghana and Ivory Coast. AGRAGEX is the Spanish Manufacturers-Exporters Association of Agricultural Machinery, Components, Irrigation Systems, Greenhouses, Crop Protection, Livestock and Post Harvesting Equipment and organizes its trade missions with the cooperation of ICEX.

This will be a business trip that will take place from the 3rd till the 8th of June. During these days the Spanish companies will seek new business ways in the agricultural sector in these countries where the demand of these products and services is expected to grow.

During the trip AGRAGEX will have meetings at the Ministries of Agriculture in both countries. In these meetings the Association will have the opportunity to know in depth the situation of both markets and to get information about the current tenders of the sector.

Ghana: Going for a forceful economy

The trade mission to Ghana will strengthen the good position of Spain at the European exports ranking. In 2011 Spain occupied the 4th place with an amount of € 2.23 million.

The great importance of the primary sector in the economy of the country, second world exporter of cocoa, makes necessary the acquisition of advanced machinery and technology. This is a market where the solutions provided by the Spanish companies have important opportunities and growing prospects in the next years.

Ivory Coast: Spain at the forefront of the irrigation products

AGRAGEX has selected this country for being one of the strongest economies in West Africa with a growing demand in agricultural machinery.

In Ivory Coast the most important sector for our products belongs to the irrigation. In 2011 Spain was the second European exporter with an amount of € 600,000. The Spanish companies will try to become the first supplier for a market where the agricultural sector represents the 24% of the GDP and employs more than half the labour force.
